Go Yankees. I hope they sweep the Sox and then the Cubs, therefore dashing the hopes of two cinderella stories in the same season. Yes, when it comes to baseball, I'm extremely spiteful. lol

lol@ash
Actually, you guys are looking well. First post season series won in 95 years? That right? What happens if you face the sox in the series?
Good luck but I still need to maintain my bitter stance (besides, if you guys win, then the Giants will be the NL franchise with the most years since a WS championship. Can't have that, now can we?)

I'm pulling for the Red Sox for all the obvious reasons. But I think by a White Sox fan rooting for a Red Sox team is a double whammy and we can expect to see the A's move on tonight.
And you see Ash, if more Cub fans were like you, I wouldn't hate the Cubs and their fans nearly as much as I do. With that pitching staff though, you guys are doing VERY well. Shame of it all is, if you had only traded Sosa away for a real hitter, you guys would have this whole thing wrapped up in no time. He is nothing more than unwanted baggage, in all honesty.
And I wish people would stop this "first post season victory in 95 years" thing. There was no post season other than the World Series until when? Wasn't it the 60's that post-season became MORE than just the WS?

Thanks Carl I agree this whole 95 years thing is stupid. There were no playoffs till 1969 if I remember correctly (from reading it I'm not that old yet!) and then thier was only one round until the mid 90's with realignment. So a more accurate statement would be "The Cubs are back in the NLCS for the first time in 14 years" but that ain't Cinderrella enough for the media. It would be if they were Cubs fans for those 14 years.lol
I'm not a fan of Sosa but he actually had some very big games in September.I know of at least 3 or 4 wins in September that he had all of the Cubs RBIs.They wouldn't have been playing in October without him. That being said Someone should explain to him that "NOW" would be a good time to show up.He's done dick in the playoffs.
Now if they find a way to unload him in the offseason (especially to sign Vlad) I will help pack his belongings.

I still believe that if you didn't have him, and somebody much more productive when the hits counted, you would have walked away with the title. How many times did Sammy fuck up when he had runners on in scoring position because he was just trying to get his ass around the bases. No matter what the guy says, he is the farthest thing from being a team player.
A major reason I take Bonds over Sosa is because Bonds will tell you EXACTLY what he is, Sosa will try and play up this good guy image that the Trib has spun for him. If he gets the trade, you pack his bags, I'll throw the party so I never have to listen to his stupid voice again or see him do that run around right field again. I'd love to see him end up in a Yankee uniform actually, his status would come crashing down soooooo damn fast, and those fans would actually eat him up since they hate the showboat attitude out there. Did you hear them turn on...I think it was Hunter, during the Twins game when he started running backwards in the first base line as Pettite came after him to tag him out. Man, that was pretty ugly.
